What is the typical process for a brand design ?

There are 6 stages in the process of designing your brand identity with Akemi Design Studio.

  1. We start with a questionnaire to assess your brand’s mission, aspirations, goals and target audience. This step is required to get a better understanding of what type of design will suit your needs best.

  2. We create a collaborative mood board on Pinterest to guide your brand’s styling.

  3. You receive 3 logo design proposals, from which to choose a favourite.

  4. We re-design your favourite logo design proposal until you are completely satisfied with it.

  5. Once the final logo is chosen, the sub-mark is created. Any other extra design service will also be created at this stage.

  6. Once all the designs are approved, the final files are sent and the job is considered as completed

 

What is a typical timeline for the brand identity design process? And for a custom illustration?

You can expect to get your brand identity design finalised within 20 - 30 days, starting from the moment the first payment is received.

Custom illustrations are typically ready in one week. Please make sure you have reference photos and images ready to be sent via email at the beginning of the project.

As you can expect, extra time will be needed for projects involving various designs. For example, a complete branding + business cards + custom illustrations can take around 50 days.

Also, keep in mind that the most promptly you reply and provide all the necessary information to Akemi when requested, the faster and smoother the design process goes ;).

 

What about prices and payment?

Each client has different needs, so prices depend on the number of deliverables requested by each project. However, a typical brand design package starts from €1500 + VAT. Prices for simple logo designs can start at €200 + VAT.

Branding consultation starts at €250+VAT for a package of two 1.5 sessions.

Squarespace website design starts at €350+VAT for a 3-pages website (home, about and contact).

Prices for custom illustrations, and digital content vary depending on the style, number of illustrations and deliverables.

Payment can be done through bank transfer, Paypal or Transferwise.

The total sum will be split into two parts. The first part will be paid in advance to book the service with the studio. This is a non-refundable payment which is asked for to book the studio’s time. The second half will be paid at the end of the project and upon your full satisfaction. You will receive at the beginning of the project a pdf document with clear points about the agreed service and deliverables to make sure we are on the same understanding during the process.

 

What about copyrights?

All copyrights for the final chosen designs will be yours, while the copyrights of the designs which will not be your final choice will be retained by Akemi Design Studio.

In case of custom made illustrations, please contact the studio to discuss the project and agree upon copyrights matters.

Akemi Design Studio uses only licensed fonts (including fonts available in Adobe programs) as I believe in the fair use of other designers’ work. All the license fees are included in the final price.
